HOW TO-Angelina Jolie Golden Globe Look

Ever wonder how some of the looks on the red carpet are created?
Sharon Blain has created some simple step-by-steps on how she believes Angelina Jolie’s hair was created at the 2012 Golden Globe Awards.

1. Firstly, directionally blow-dry the hair towards the crown and at the nape up, work the hair towards the crown, to smooth the hair.
2. Use a thermal spray and set the entire head with large hot rollers for body and bounce, allowing the rollers to cool down and then to be removed.
3. Brush the hair from roots to end and divide the front away from the top of the ear to ear. 
4. Work the back section first up to the lower crown and apply a loose pony tail into the section. 
5. Gently back comb the front section to add height, working it back into the existing pony tail and smooth over the outer hair.
6. Band both sections together into a single pony.
7. Comb the pony and twist the hair into a loose single twist.
8. Coil the twist into a small ballet bun and pin to hold.

Our very own Letitia has been giving it her all at Miami for Goldwell’s ColorZoom Competition this weekend. We can say with big smiles on our faces that she was named in the top 5 in the “Creative Colourist” category in the world! Although she didn’t bring the trophy home, we are absolutely thrilled with her achievement and are so fortunate to have her on our team at The Art of Hair. This result assures all our clients that The Art of Hair stylists who are trained by Letitia are guaranteed that their colour results are at a world class level. Go Letitia!!

Letitia, one of our stylists at Beecroft ran a marathon for an organisation called Cantoo to raise funds for the Cancer Australian Foundation. After months of hard training we think she did a great job. Letitia, we think you're amazing! You are a true inspiration! Here's an idea of what she accomplished:

Over the past three years, Sharon Blain has connected with many breast cancer sufferers who have contacted her for advice on purchasing a wig. As the numbers of clients continues to grow she felt she wanted to do more to support The National Breast Cancer Foundation. CHANGES THAT WILL BENEFIT ALL OUR CLIENTS - New service menu and VIP club

We have some great news that I’m sure will have you all cheering. I am so excited to announce some significant changes to our VIP club and the pricing of our hair services. I want to thank everyone for your feedback, we value your opinion, and now look forward to sharing our fresh, new changes with you.

As you know, we have been operating our VIP Club for 18 years and I believe we needed to take a long hard look at the actual value you are currently receiving. More recently I have been feeling that this club was not meeting the needs or truly rewarding our most loyal clients.

As of September 1, our current VIP Club will no longer exist in its present form. Instead we have created a new club which is much more exciting, interactive and value added. You are now able to go online and join our VIP Club.

Every three months you can take advantage of a range of special offers on services, products and seasonal promotions. All you need to do is register, print off the offers, and bring them to your appointments. The best thing about joining our new  E-club – you won’t have to visit us 6 times to join; you can become a VIP member instantly and enjoy everything our new E-club has to offer.

We recently held a focus group that provided some valuable feedback on our current pricing structure. You will now notice some great changes to our service menu. With you, the client in mind, we have introduced better pricing options and great value added packages to fit everyone’s budget. 

An example: Goldwell IQ lock-in Colour Treatment is included in the prices of a full colour service. This is valued at $15. We all know the excellent results  IQ has on the hair,  so, the win for you is having a longer lasting beautiful colour and also save dollars.

I know you will be thrilled with the new direction the Art of Hair has taken and thank you for allowing us to care for your most important asset, your hair.
